The Pillersee Buchensteinwand ski area for beginners, families, and children is small but fine, with a suitable selection of ski pistes of all difficulties, from the Bobo Kinderpark for the very little ones through to leisurely family runs and the highlight: the training slope of downhill professional Romed Baumann.

There are 27 gondola lifts, 22 chairlifts, and 21 drag lifts and practice lifts giving an uphill capacity of 126,000 people an hour, whisking winter guests up to the region’s snow sure, fabulous pistes. The 140 easy (blue), 110 moderate (red), and 20 difficult (black) pistes provide plenty of variety.
